No Child in this world deserves to go hungry or to be without water to drink. Children are usually the most affected by the issue of poverty. The manifestation of poverty is often in abuse, abandonment of children, and starvation of families and migration of people to other parts of the world seeking a way out. This often means that children are left behind…often to starve.
Our work currently is focused in Chiapas, the same area where our coffee and water projects are centered. Chiapas is the southern most and poorest of all the states in Mexico. Our work is on the Mexico/Guatemala border. The children's orphanage is called Mision Mexico and is operated completely on the generosity of people from around the world.
Plans are underway to build a new facility to provide refuge to orphaned, abandoned, abused and disadvantaged children. By giving them a home, family, love and education they have hope for advancement in all areas of their lives. Contributions are greatly needed for the sustainability of the orphanage and children. The children living at the Tapachula Orphanage need your help to continue to live with enough food, clean water, shoes, and clothing to sustain any hope for survival. The dream of actually thriving someday must first be addressed with actually surviving today.

Without Hope, those struggling to survive in our world have nothing. Hope allows people to participate in changing the struggling environment in which they live.
The Peace and Justice Center has created a model which supports communities who are engaged in changing the cycle of poverty. It is called the “Center of Hope.” Those living in communities struggling in poverty can utilize the center of hope to gain the needed essentials to create a more sustainable and healthy environment.
The Center of Hope is managed, supported and sustained by those living in the communities. They are supported through volunteers from around the world who help to educate, build and lift up the people to be empowered to take control. The Center of Hope provides:
- Childcare Center
- Pre-school
- Computer Training
- English School
- Art & Music
- Health Clinic
- Purified Drinking Water System
- Skill Development Center
- Food Program
- Other services designed specifically for a particular community
Currently two centers are being built and programs already begun in communities in Veracruz and Oaxaca, Mexico.
